Iterable is officially dead! RIP, Iterable.⚰️🌹
July MarCom Updates
July is full of HubSpot reminders and resources, plus some housekeeping tips! And, our Conference resources are now available! Read on for all the news...
HUBSPOT MARKETING TRAINING & IMPLEMENTATION
The easiest and most effective way to learn HubSpot Marketing in the NICA context is to follow our training plan in order:
- Go through material from all 4 training sessions to familiarize yourself with the new platform. There are essential tasks to complete before you send your first email, and key differences between HubSpot and Iterable that extend beyond email marketing (CRM implications, file management, etc.)
- Use the tabs on the left to navigate through each module, 1-4.
- Use the final Training Summary link to review your knowledge and ensure you’ve learned all the essentials.
- All leagues who weren’t able to attend live training need to review our HubSpot Marketing Training Summaries.
- You can view ALL HubSpot Marketing materials here, including Scribes for common processes and troubleshooting (PW: MoreKidsOnBikes)
- IMPORTANT: Before you send any “typical” league communication, we ask that you follow the instructions in the week 4 training session and send a “Our email platform is changing!” email notice to all of your contacts. This email content is already pre-written for you; all you have to do is build the email. As noted in the training summary, this should be the FIRST email you send from HubSpot, no exceptions. This sets you up for success on the new platform before you continue with business as usual.
- Don’t forget to use our new NICA Email Builder resources to make your life easier as you continue to send rad league comms from HubSpot! The email builder checklist is especially useful as you learn the new system.

- Email builder checklist - STRONGLY recommended!!

Oh...and don't forget to set up your "from" address/name correctly...

🧹 HubSpot Housekeeping
Be sure to sort your emails AND files (image uploads, etc.) into your league folders in HubSpot.
- EMAILS: The organization/naming of emails is up to you, but we recommend establishing naming conventions and folders to keep yourself organized. Avoid titles like “Clone of League Multi-Topic Newsletter” and “Email 1” 🙂
- FILES: Remember that file organizationAND naming conventions are important; review our week4 training session for info!
→ PRO TIP: As you learn the new system, set aside 15 minutes of HubSpot Housekeeping time 1x a month or so to clean up anything that might have been missed when it was created/added to HubSpot.
📝 Transitioning our training materials to evergreen onboarding resources
We’ve made slight changes to our HubSpot Marketing Training Page to establish it as an evergreen resource. You’ll see this reflected in some minor language updates (i.e. Module 1 vs. Week 1 for training sessions). The content has remained the same as what was presented in our recent 4-week training period. This page will now live on as a resource for anyone new to NICA who is learning how to use our marketing platform (i.e. new league directors or new league MarCom staff).
Thanks so much for your time and attention to all of the details surrounding this transition! If you need any assistance, be sure to let us know how we can support you. Submit a HubSpot Help Desk ticket OR schedule a quick call with our team to connect face-to-face.
GENERAL MARCOM
We enjoyed seeing so many of you at our National Conference in Bend! If you weren’t able to make it to our session, please feel free to review our “Pedaling Together: The Power of Brand Unity & Clarity” materials and slides.
SESSION SUMMARY: Think a "brand" is just a logo? It's actually more complex than colors, logos, and fonts – and greater than the sum of its parts. A good brand is like the difference between fun, well-marked singletrack and a route nobody can follow. As we all know, a well-built trail gets more riders. In this workshop, we'll demystify what branding really means, make the case for why a unified NICA identity gives every league more momentum, and explore how your league can stay true to its local roots while fueling a national youth mountain bike movement.
